I strongly concur with your take and believes that the media has been blowing this fear out of proportion. The subscription model of ChatGPT perplexity etc has yet to be proven successful since the massive ongoing compute and inference costs cant be covered.
I’ve made my bets on Google and will continue to add during the dips
As a Google shareholder, I’ll just paraphrase what Pichai said in an interview a while ago: information is never consolidated. It always has been and will always be spread out among a few companies/outlets.
First it was newspapers and MSM, then it was Google and the internet. Now it’s LLMs, social media, TikTok, and Google. I don’t think this means Google is in danger, just that technology is evolving. Which if Google plays along, is a compliment to its dominance.
Very in-depth article Felix, I thought it was well-written and researched and offers some really good insights into the current state of Google search and AI.
Really enjoyed this deep dive. Totally agree that Google isn’t dying — it's adapting, and the integration of AI into search (SGE, Gemini) is the next logical evolution. One thing I’ve been thinking about is how the 'search vs chat' experience might split based on user intent: when someone wants exploration (browsing, comparing), search stays king. But when someone wants a decision shortcut (like 'give me the best X'), AI chat could keep gaining ground. Seems like Google’s hedging for both paths at once. Really curious to see how user behavior data ends up shaping future updates

Yes, I do agree with you. You are absolutely right. The future of Google is still bright. Did you buy yesterday?
yes I added some yesterday. I've own Google shares since Covid so I continue to add to my position whenever I see fit
Good writeup! Love the “shifting sands” title!
Thank you, Greg! Appreciate it a lot!
Skimmed through, but will be reading tonight!
